ScentsoryCandles soy candles

Here are a few simple things to remember when burning your ScentsoryCandles:

  • When lighting a soy candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container.  This will maximize the fragrance and minimize the amount of wax remaining on the sides of the container.  If you do not allow the wax to melt enough during the first burn, your candle may "tunnel," which means the wax burns down the center of the candle and leaves wax on the sides of the jar.

  • All candles, especially highly scented ones, will produce some smoke and soot.  Proper burning (e.g., keeping wick trimmed, avoiding drafts) will help eliminate this problem.

  • Keep candles out of direct sunlight to avoid color fading.

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • The most effective way to extinguish the flame of a candle is to use a candle snuffer. The snuffer helps prevent the wax from spraying and keeps the wick centered.

  • Use melts only in burners/melters designated for wax melts/tarts and follow all manufacturer instructions.  Make sure burner/melter is well-ventilated.  Do not add water to wax.

Burn times for ScentsoryCandles will vary according to the combination of wick size, fragrance, dye, and where the candle is placed for burning.  The approximate burn times for our candles and melts are shown below:
    • 1 oz soy melt - 8 to 10 hours
    • 2 oz votive - 15 to 20 hours
    • 5 oz candle - 30 to 40 hours
    • 10 oz candle - 45 to 55 hours
    • 16 oz candle - 70 to 80 hours

Before burning our candles, please read the
candle safety guidelines created by the National Candle Association.
